Returning Officer Eoghan Ryan has announced that counting for Newbridge LEA will begin soon in Punchestown.
Sitting councillors Suzanne Doyle (FF) and Kevin Duffy (FG) look likely to get re-elected, according to the tally for the Kildare Electoral Area.
Brian O'Loughlin (FF) also did well on first preference votes followed by Cllr Paddy Curran (FG) and Pat Balfe (Ind). It's going to be very tight for those last seats with Shónagh Ní Raghallaigh (SF) a very short way behind.
There five seats in this electoral area.
