KWR is urgently calling for volunteers to join its team at its centre in Kildare Town

Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR) is urgently calling for volunteers to join its team at its centre in Kildare Town. The recent East Coast Oil Spill, combined with a significant increase in admissions of all wildlife, has created an unprecedented demand for the organisation’s services.

KWR has the spatial capacity and facilities to care for more animals, but to meet this rising need, additional volunteers are essential.

“It’s wonderful to see more people becoming aware of our work and taking the time to report wildlife casualties and bring them into our care, “ said KWR Manager Dan Donoher. “However, to keep up with the demand for our services, we need more people to volunteer their time to help us at the Centre.”

The commitment required from volunteers is just 4 hours a week and KWR Centre is easily accessible by public transport. Those interested in making a difference in the lives of Ireland’s wildlife can contact [email protected] to get involved. All necessary training will be provided.

Kildare Wildlife Rescue is a volunteer-run charity organisation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and return of injured and orphaned wildlife in Kildare, Dublin and surrounding counties. Established in 2022, KWR admits almost all native wildlife species, from the smallest garden bird nestlings to large birds and mammals such as badgers, foxes and swans.
