The case was heard on Thursday, May 16 last.
A Naas District Court case involving a man accused of harbouring suspected drugs has been struck out.
Judge Desmond Zaidan made the decision while presiding over the case on Thursday, May 16 last.
Viktors Ivanovs, of Ballymany Mews in Newbridge, was previously accused by gardaí of harbouring an estimated €6,000 worth of amphetamines, also known as 'speed', at his home on April 6, 2022.
On the latest court date, gardaí told the judge that while a certificate of analysis was ready, there were still no directions ready from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The two-year delay in DPP directions was criticised by defending solicitor Matthew Byrne.
After consideration, Judge Zaidan agreed with Mr Byrne's assertions, and said that he would strike-out the case against his 46-year-old client, citing the delays in obtaining DPP directions.
