Students and staff of Maynooth University (MU) rolled up their sleeves over the few days as part of MU Green Week.

The event, which is organised by the Maynooth Green Campus, was carried out in collaboration with An Taisce National Spring Clean, which celebrates its 25th anniversary.

According to MU: "Green Week underlines the University's commitment to sustainable practices and the environment."

"It also provides an opportunity for students, staff, and the wider community to come together, share ideas, and take meaningful action towards building a more eco-conscious society," the University added.

Throughout the week, a variety of campus events took place at MU, ranging from interactive eco workshops, exhibitions, informative panel discussions, and hands-on activities.

MU also said: "Among the highlights was an 'Eating with the Seasons Workshop', where staff and students had the opportunity to plant seeds for the Edible Garden, and forage with local herbalist Emma Cooney.

"Maynooth Green Campus is part of An Taisce’s Green Campus Network and is made up of staff and students from Maynooth University, St Patrick’s College Maynooth and the local community groups.

"It encourages the community to take action on environmental sustainability through teaching, research, public engagement and other campus activities.

"It includes events such as Green Campus Week, Sustainability Expos, and edible garden and biodiversity walks that are open to staff, students, and the public."

"For more information on the Maynooth Green Campus and to see upcoming events, please see https://www.maynoothuniversity.ie/green-campus," MU added.
