The case was heard at Naas District Court on Thursday, April 4 last.
111 separate statements have been taken and 74 exhibits are involved in one Naas District Court Kildare case.
That's according to a Garda Sergeant who was present in the court on Thursday, April 4 last, during an in-camera (in private) court session
Appearing before Judge Desmond Zaidan was a juvenile accused of kicking another juvenile in the head twice, which allegedly resulted in the alleged injured party sustaining a broken nose.
When defending solicitor David Powderly asked, in a critical manner, why the case was taking so long to progress, Sgt Brian Jacob told the court: "There have been a total of 111 statements taken and there are 74 exhibits in this case."
"We (An Garda Síochána) are taking this matter with the utmost seriousness," Sgt Jacob added.
Judge Zaidan adjourned the case involving the juvenile defendant to a date in May.
Directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions are expected on this date.
He remanded the accused on continuing bail until the case resumes.
