The Newbridge-based InkTank Creative Writing Group has published a brand-new book.
The group's latest story Behind the Bookshelves, succeeds its first two books, Timeless in Kildare from 2019 and Let Me Tell You Something in 2020.
Both of these books are anthology books filled with a range of short stories, essays and poetry.
Commenting on the origin on Behind the Bookshelves, Maria McDonald, one of the members of InkTank, said: "During the Covid-10 lockdown, seven members of the group took up the writing challenge, while several others took up the task of editing and the result is within these covers."
She added: "We didn't expect the twists and turns our story took but with seven different writers, it was inevitable, and now, the final product is now ready for readers."
Ink Tank has decided that all monies raised from the sale of its latest novel will go towards supporting a local charity, Samaritans Newbridge and Kildare.
The group's members covered all design and printing costs, along with a publishing grant from Kildare County Council.
The premise of Behind the Bookshelves reads as follows: "What happens when a small-town writing group is taken hostage in their local library?"
"Lives will be threatened, and mayhem will ensue... will anyone survive unscathed?"
Behind the Bookshelves is now available in local independent bookshops throughout County Kildare.
