A 'substantial amount'of power tools were stolen from a North Kildare housing development, according to a member of An Garda Síochána (AGS).

Gda John-Joe O'Connell spoke about the incident with KFM Radio on Wednesday, March 27 last.

He told host Eoin Beatty that between Sunday night (March 24 last) and Monday morning (March 25 last), the tools were stolen from the Ardrath Meadow housing development in Celbridge.

Gda O'Connell said that a 'substantial amount' of power tools were taken from the site.

"The tools are estimated to be worth over €2,000," Gda O'Connell said.

He concluded by saying that anyone with information in relation to the thefts can contact Celbridge Garda Station on 01 628 8222.
When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a spokesperson for AGS had this to say: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of burglary that occurred on March 25, 2024 in a residential premises on the Maynooth Road in Celbridge, County Kildare.

"No arrests have been made."

The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing."
