Derelict Sites Levies of €77,242 have been collected for properties in the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD).
In addition, a list of properties on the derelict sites register located within the MD was given to local councillors by Kildare County Council (KCC).
The information was requested by Sinn Féin Cllr Noel Connolly at the latest MD meeting, which was held on Wednesday, March 20 last.
Specifically, Cllr Connolly asked KCC 'to provide a list of the properties on the derelict sites register in the MD and the amount of levies collected on each site to date.'
In response, KCC showed Cllr Connolly a list of properties in the MD which have been entered on the Derelict Sites Register.
The sites are located in the following areas (and are in no particular order):
The earliest listed property was first entered into the list back in February of 2016, and the latest listed property was entered into the list back in September of 2023.
KCC also said: "Individual financial details for each site cannot be provided to protect anonymity for the landowners."
"Derelict Sites Levies of €77,242 have been collected for properties in this MD," KCC concluded.
Cllr Connolly told the Leinster Leader after the meeting that he accepted the council's report, and would follow up with KCC offline.
