Shoplifting incident which occurred in North Kildare retail premises under investigation by gardaí

A theft incident which occurred in a North Kildare retail premises is now under investigation by gardaí.

When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of theft that occurred in a retail premises at approximately 9am on March 8, 2024 in the Glen Easton area of Leixlip, County Kildare.

"No arrests have been made."

The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing."

A garda from Celbridge spoke about the incident in-depth with KFM Radio on the morning of Wednesday, March 13 last.

Gda Mark Connolly told host Eoin Beatty that one male and one female entered into the shop, concealed items, and both left the shop with the items without paying for them.

He said that the woman is described as having blonde hair and glasses, while the man is described as having reddish-brown hair with a beard.

Gda Connolly added that anyone with information in relation to this incident is being asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station on (01) 666 7800.
