Emergency works are taking place in the Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District today.

Kildare County Council (KCC) said in a statement: "On Thursday, March 7, 2024, KCC will be restricting vehicle access onto the L5054 (Mooretown Drive / Ballygoran View), to Local Access Only.

"This restriction will be in place between the hours of 09.30 to 3.30pm."

KCC continued: "Emergency works are required to repair the road surface and the storm water pipework beneath the carriageway edge.

"KCC staff will be located at the Kilwogan Lane / Mooretown Drive Junction, and the Ballygoran View Junction to inform and assist members of the public with the relevant information regarding the road works.

"In the event the works are incomplete on Thursday, March 7, 2024, KCC will lift the restriction, leaving the road fully operational after 3.30pm and will reinstate the restriction on the morning of Friday, March 8, 2024 between the hours of 09.30am to 3.30pm to complete the works," KCC concluded.
