Personal safety concerns relating to the pond area of the town park in Prosperous was brought to Kildare County Council (KCC)'s attention.
Social Democrats Cllr Aidan Farrelly asked KCC at the latest Clane-Maynooth meeting to update members regarding plans to address safety concerns in the area.
KCC replied: "It is proposed to develop the pond area in the park into a wetland area.
"We will prepare a design for this and carry out the works in Summer / Autumn time," KCC added.
