Man discusses his upcoming book with Kildare judge

Judge Desmond Zaidan was interested to hear about the man's upcoming book.

A Newbridge man discussed his upcoming book with a Naas District Court judge when he appeared before him on Thursday, February 8.

Paul O'Halloran, of Dara Park in Newbridge, appeared in court for the execution of a bench warrant related to a Carlow District Court matter, for an alleged simple possession offence dating back to 2021 in County Carlow.

The 46-year-old, who appeared alongside his solicitor Brian Larkin, explained to Judge Desmond Zaidan that he has an upcoming book of poetry coming out soon.

He also said that all the proceeds of his book will go towards the Burns Unit in St James Hospital in Dublin, as they had treated a relative of his in the past.

"It's a cause very close to my heart," Mr O'Halloran told the judge.

"You should give a copy of your book to Mr Larkin when it comes out," the judge said, to which Mr O'Halloran replied: "I will, yes, and I'll have a signed copy for you, your honour!"

Mr O'Halloran's Carlow matter will be heard on a date later this month.
