Six-year driving ban imposed on Enfield man for Kildare drink-driving offence

A man from Enfield who appeared at Naas District Court on Thursday, February 8 last was convicted of a drink-driving offence.

Marius Macijauskas, with an address listed as 6 Johnstown Road, Enfield, County Meath, committed the offence at Donore in Caragh, County Kildare on March 30 last.

Gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan that the 36-year-old was involved in a road traffic collision with another vehicle.

No one was injured.

Gardaí present at the scene then performed at breath test on Mr Macijauskas, where he tested positive for alcohol in his system.

The court was told that Mr Macijauskas has four previous convictions, including one conviction relating to a drink-driving offence in 2008.

Judge Zaidan imposed a six-year driving disqualification on the man, in addition to a €500 fine.

The fine is to be paid within three months.
