A temporary road closure will take place in North Kildare in March.
Kildare County Council (KCC), on behalf of Uisce Éireann, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it will close the R-403 Dublin Road.
The closure will take place from the R-405 Hazelhatch Road / R403 Dublin Road / Newton Road Junction, Celbridge to the R403 Dublin Road / Shinkeen Road. Junction, Celbridge.
KCC said that the closure will take place during the period commencing Monday, March 11, 2024 to until Saturday, March 30, 2024, in order to facilitate permanent reinstatement.
"Planned works are programmed for four calendar weekdays," KCC said:"Advance notification of start date will be provided."
"Roads will be opened if works are completed early and only one road closure will be in operation at any one time," KCC added.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:
Westbound vehicles on the R403 from Lucan/M4 will be diverted left at the Shinkeen Road Junction.
They will continue on Shinkeen Road (circa 0.5km) to the R405 Junction where they will divert right onto the R405 and continue on to the Liffey Bridge.
Southbound vehicles from Celbridge Main Street and Eastbound vehicles from Clane (Liffey Bridge) will be diverted onto the R405 (Hazelhatch Road) as far as Skinkeen Road where it will divert left.
They will continue on the Skinkeen Road (circa 0.5km) and divert right back onto the R403.
KCC has said that diversionary routes 'will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the council and An Garda Síochána.'
"Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained," KCC added.
