Forget the Book of Kells, we have our own Book of Kildare

Drawing inspiration from ancient manuscripts

Book of Kildare

Book of Kildare

Following on the successful launch of The Book of Kildare at Kildare Town Library on Sunday, January 28, Kildare artist/calligrapher, Josephine Hardiman will give a presentation on the inspiration behind her unique project, and the journey that brought it to completion.

This event takes place at Solas Bhride Centre, Tully Road, Kildare town from 3pm to 5pm on February 4. Admission is €5 (incl of tea/coffee).

Using her own interpretation of the long-lost ‘Book of Kildare’, drawing inspiration from our ancient manuscripts, Josephine has created a colourful and vibrant, hand-painted, calligraphic modern-day manuscript.

Featuring Brigid of Kildare, and Kildare’s rich heritage, from ancient to modern times, it is an heirloom work of art that will be cherished by generations to come.

After the presentation, Josephine will be available to sign copies of The Book of Kildare.
