A woman was allegedly assaulted by her husband in a County Kildare hotel.

Gardaí informed Judge Desmond Zaidan about the accusation during a court session held at Naas District Court on Thursday, January 11.

The accused, who is aged in his 30s, allegedly committed the offence last year.

It was alleged that his wife sustained bruising and swelling as a result of the assault.

Judge Zaidan remanded the accused on continuing bail until the case resumes on a date in May, which is when a book of evidence is due to be presented on the defendant.
