Disqualification imposed on North Kildare woman for road traffic offences

The case was heard at Naas District Court.

A woman was disqualified from driving over road traffic offences committed in North Kildare.

Catherina-Alice Fields, with an address given as Coolcarrigan, Coill Dubh, was convicted by Judge Desmond Zaidan at Naas District Court on Thursday, January 11 last.

Gardaí told the judge that on April 13, 2022, at the L1020 Station Road in Derrymullen, Allenwood, the 39-year-old was being prosecuted for driving without a driving licence, driving without insurance, and for non-display of a tax disc on her vehicle.

According to gardaí, she has 17 previous convictions, including one past conviction related to drink-driving and another conviction for driving while disqualified.

Judge Desmond Zaidan fined her €100 for the no licence offence and €400 for the no insurance offence.

Both fines are to be paid within three months.

He also imposed a two-year driving disqualification on Ms Fields.

The judge applied the Probation Act in relation to then non-display of a tax disc charge.
