A man told Naas District court he is seeking to serve legal documents because he is looking for custody of his son.
The man made an application to secure permission to serve documents in another country.
He said his son resides with his mother (the applicant’s former partner) outside Ireland.
He told the court he has documentation to indicate that the woman left Ireland five years previously and he added that she is living in Poland.
He said he was not married to the woman.
However Judge Desmond Zaidan noted that there were spelling differences between an address in Poland provided by the man and the address on documents which had been handed into court.
Judge Zaidan said these apparent discrepancies need to be resolved so that both addresses are the same. Other, he added, the documents might not be properly received in Poland and could be returned.
He adjourned the matter to May 13.
