The removal of a bell from a church located in North Kildare has been proposed by the Kildare and Leighlin Diocesan Trust.

Applicant Paul O'Boyle, on behalf of the Kildare and Leighlin Diocesan Trust, is seeking planning permission from Kildare County Council for the 'removal of historic bell from concrete structure in field to rear (and) conservation of same' at the Church of St Patrick and St Brigid, which is located on the Main Street of Clane.

Mr O'Boyle is also seeking permission from the council for the erection of a bell on a steel frame, with a stone base in front of church.

The application notes that the church is a protected structure located in an Architectural Conservation Area.

The date received on the application is listed as December 14 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed January 26, 2024 and February 16, 2024 respectively.
