A burglary occurred at crèche located in the Moorefield region of Newbridge.
Tots Creche & Daycare Nursery made the announcement on its official Facebook page.
The management at Tots said in a post made yesterday (Thursday, December 7): "We can only apologise, but we cannot open our creche today for ECCE/Full Daycare and Afterschool.
"Unfortunately, we had a break in during last night so for health and safety, we cannot open these rooms until they are cleaned up and ready.
"All will be ok for tomorrow morning. The front of house only is unaffected and will run as normal."
The management concluded by saying: "Thank you all for your understanding, Annette, Audrey, Amanda and Karen."
When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a garda spokesperson had this to say: "Gardaí responded to reports of an incident of burglary at a premises in Newbridge, County Kildare on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
"There are no arrests at this time."
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson added.
