New documentary So This Is Christmas coming to Riverbank Arts Centre
Riverbank Arts Centre will hold a special screening of So This Is Christmas, a new documentary from Irish film maker Ken Wardrop, on Wednesday 20 December at 8pm. The director will be present on the evening and will host a post-screening talk.
So This Is Christmas is the latest documentary from award-winning Irish filmmaker Ken Wardrop (His & Hers). This thoughtful, emotional film looks at the lead-up to Christmas from the perspective of five different individuals and families from the Midlands - from a single mother trying to make ends meet, to an older woman facing the prospect of another Christmas alone.
You’ll struggle to find a more moving and honest film about the realities of the festive season. Wardrop - with his trademark mix of empathy and warm humour - explores the emotional, financial and social challenges of Christmas. These stories are heart-breaking and tinged with tragedy, but the film also emphasises the moments of joy, kindness and resilience experienced on the way to Christmas Day.
So This Is Christmas will be screened at Riverbank Arts Centre on Wednesday December 20 at 8pm. Tickets are priced €7 (early bird) / €9 (on door) and can be booked through the Box Office, either in person or by telephone on 045 448327 Monday to Friday 9.30am-5pm (closed for lunch 2-2.30) and Saturday 10am-1pm.
Tickets can also be booked 24/7 on www.riverbank.ie – Online tickets subject to €1 booking fee per ticket.
