The Labour Party has held a Selection Convention for its candidates to contest the Local Elections in 2024 in the Clane, Celbridge and Naas electoral areas.

Eoin Coates was selected to contest the Local Election in Clane while Rupert Heather will be a candidate in Celbridge and Cllr Anne Breen was selected for Naas. Eoin has worked as a Trade Unionist for many years and Rupert is a member of Celbridge Community Council.  Both have young families and understand the issues facing families in North Kildare and will work hard to represent them, if elected.

Cllr Anne Breen will stand again in Naas and has worked tirelessly as a councillor since 2009 and looks forward to the campaign ahead.  Cllr Angela Feeney was selected as a candidate in September and will stand again for the Maynooth area in 2024.

Speaking at the Selection Convention, as Chair of the Kildare North Labour Constituency,  Cllr. Feeney thanked Senator Mark Wall for chairing the Convention.  She also congratulated Eoin, Rupert and Anne on their selection as candidates and said the Labour team in North Kildare is very strong and works very hard with local communities and will continue to do so in the years ahead.

Angela also wished Cllr Ciara Galvin the very best on her upcoming maternity leave and thanked her for all her great work on the Council.

Rupert Heather will be co-opted to Kildare County Council in the New Year.
