The court was told that the 24-year-old was initially stopped by gardaí for speeding when he committed the offence at Blacktrench, Naas on October 30, 2021.

It was heard that he has no previous convictions.

Judge Zaidan imposed a €500 fine on Mr Cronly, which is to be paid within three months.

He also imposed a one-year driving ban on Mr Cronly for the drug-driving offence.

When defending solicitor David Powderly asked Judge Zaidan if his client's driving ban could be postponed to start on April 10, 2024, the judge agreed to grant this request.
