A Carbury resident was disqualified from driving and fined by a Naas District Court judge for a drug-driving offence.
Ben Cronly, with an address listed as Abbey Court, Ticknevin in Carbury, pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of cannabis when he appeared before Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, November 9 last.
The court was told that the 24-year-old was initially stopped by gardaí for speeding when he committed the offence at Blacktrench, Naas on October 30, 2021.
It was heard that he has no previous convictions.
Judge Zaidan imposed a €500 fine on Mr Cronly, which is to be paid within three months.
He also imposed a one-year driving ban on Mr Cronly for the drug-driving offence.
When defending solicitor David Powderly asked Judge Zaidan if his client's driving ban could be postponed to start on April 10, 2024, the judge agreed to grant this request.
