A tourist returned to a Kildare hospital to thank medics who saved his life two years ago.
Steffen Michael Soerensen from Denmark was holidaying in Tinahely, Co Wicklow in November 2021 when he collapsed and needed urgent medical assistance.
Mr Soerensen was rushed to Naas General Hospital where was revived after suffering two cardiac arrests and on one occasion receiving CPR for 29 minutes.
He underwent surgery and has now made a full recovery.
Speaking to the staff of Naas General Hospital, Mr Soerensen said: “Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at Naas General Hospital that were involved in my care and recovery.
"I can only express my deepest gratitude for the incredible actions and management that the team displayed when they saved my life.
"Words cannot express how thankful I am and I will never forget what you all did for me.”
