Driving disqualification and fine for woman who commited drug-driving offence near Kildare-Dublin border

A driving disqualification (DQ) and fine was imposed on a woman who committed a drug-driving offence near the Kildare-Dublin border.

Judge Desmond Zaidan made the decision at Naas District Court on Thursday, October 12, in the case of Megan Brock, with an address given as 15 West Demense in Baltinglass, County Wicklow.

The court was told by gardaí that on June 23, 2022, on the Ballygoran Road near Maynooth in County Kildare, the 23-year-old was caught driving while under the influence of cannabis.

It was heard that Ms Brock had no previous convictions.

Judge Zaidan decided to impose a one-year driving DQ on Ms Brock, in addition to a fine of €500.

He gave Ms Brock three months to pay this fine.
