Kildare County Council in partnership with the Regional Waste Enforcement Office and the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications; will be holding free waste mattress recycling events at two of Civic Amenity Sites to aid households in recycling and reduce dumping across County Kildare.
The events are being held specifically for domestic customers at the following locations:
Silliot Hill Civic Amenity Centre, Brownstown, Kilcullen on Sunday 8th October; and
Gallowshill Civic Amenity Site, Dublin Road, Athy on Tuesday 10th October.
Event opening hours will be 9am until 3pm each day.
Households are encouraged to take this opportunity to undertake a clear out and dispose of such waste responsibly We would encourage you to explore alternatives other than disposal prior to bringing along to the events.
The following items will be accepted for recycling for free on the day and household quotas will apply:
Double, single, and triple mattresses –maximum of 6 per delivery
The following will not be accepted during the events:
Divans, pillows, bed frames, foot stools, couches, armchairs
Commercial Operators
Charity Companies
All categories which fall outside of this scheme can be recycled as normal at any Civic Amenity Site when normal service and opening hours resume.
