Dublin Airport has issued advice to people travelling for flights amidst delays and cancellations.
Passengers intending to fly today (August 29) are advised to check the status of their flight with their airline before travelling to the airport.
Travel disruptions and delays have occurred as a result of the Air Traffic Control (ATC) issues in the UK.
The issue reportedly started on Monday after ATC provider National Air Traffic Services (Nats) suffered what it described as a "technical issue" preventing it from automatically processing flight plans.
It resulted in a large number of cancelled and delayed flights to Ireland and the UK.
Update: Air Traffic Control issues in the UK today are resulting in delays and cancellations to some flights into and out of Dublin Airport. We advise all passengers due to travel today to check the status of their flight with their airline in advance of travelling. https://t.co/L73p4UoJ2K

It has since been described by UK Transport Minister, Mark Harper, as the worst incident of its kind in "nearly a decade".
According to Dublin Airport, any additional parking fees incurred as a result of the ATC delays will be waived.
Impacted passengers should speak with a member of staff on the ground or use the intercom facility when exiting their car park.
According to the Irish Times, hundreds of people spent the night sleeping in the airport as 20 further flights were cancelled today.
Passengers needing to re-book flights are encouraged to do so via their airline’s app or website.
