The woman was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries. She was pronounced deceased yesterday evening.

It's a historic day for Kildare Athletic Club as Irish national 800m champion John Fitzsimons travels to Budapest to compete in the World Athletics Championships.
In a post on the club's Facebook page, it said; "We wish John safe travels and good luck in his final preparations. The club sends best wishes to our head coach Sandra and all the Fitzsimons family who are travelling out to support John. John is a totally dedicated athlete, a wonderful role model for all our athletes at the club and we are all so very proud of him! John competes in the 800m on Tuesday. Good luck to John and Team Ireland as the championships begin tomorrow!"
