UPDATE: Extension of temporary road closure in North Kildare

An extension of a temporary road closure in North Kildare has been announced by Kildare County Council (KCC).

Notice is hereby given of the decision of KCC to extend the duration of the closure as detailed below of the road in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994.

Specifically, the road in question is R403 Dublin Road, from junction with R405 Hazelhatch Road / R403 Dublin Road / Newton Road Junction, Celbridge to junction with R403 Dublin Road / Shinkeen Road Junction, Celbridge.

The road closure has been extended to Friday, September 29, 2023.

KCC said: "The closure is required to facilitate permanent reinstatement."

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Westbound vehicles on the R403 from Lucan/M4 will be diverted left at the Shinkeen Road Junction.

They will continue on Shinkeen Road (circa 0.5km) to the R405 Junction where they will divert right onto the R405 and continue on to the Liffey Bridge.

Southbound vehicles from Celbridge Main Street and eastbound vehicles from Clane (Liffey Bridge) will be diverted onto the R405 (Hazelhatch Road) as far as Shinkeen Road where they will divert left.

They will continue on Shinkeen Road (circa 0.5km) and divert right back onto the R403.

Any inconvenience caused is regretted.
