Popular Irish singer to play homecoming gig ahead of nationwide tour

A popular Irish singer is set to play a special gig in his hometown ahead of a nationwide tour this summer.

Mundy and his band will hit the stage at the Oh My July Festival in Birr, Co Offaly on July 2, and will be joined by old friends including singer-songwriter Paddy Casey, El Mush, Nicole Maguire and Ger Eaton.

The Offaly hitmaker has enjoyed an illustrious career touring with legends including Bob Dylan, Oasis and The White Stripes, among many others, with this year marking 21 years since his smash hit 'July'.

His debut single ‘To You I Bestow’ was included in the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, which went on to sell 11 million copies.

He is now releasing a brand new single 'Sometimes I Thought I Was You' from his forthcoming album ahead of his homecoming show.

The track reminisces on his teenage ambitions to follow in the footsteps of his heroes Bruce Springstein and Bob Dylan.

Tickets to the show - which includes a disco after the main event - are available for €31 including booking fee from Ticketstop.ie or by calling the County Arms Hotel on (057) 912 0791.
