Judge Desmond Zaidan had stern words for the couple when they appeared before him on Thursday, June 22 last.
A married couple were accused of abusing the legal system by a Judge in Naas District Court.
The couple appeared before Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, June 22 last, as part of an in-camera (in private) court session, which related to alleged breaches of protection orders.
Both the man and the woman had protection orders, and they both made counter allegations of assault.
However, solicitor David Powderly, who represented the man in the case, said that matters 'had settled down' between the couple since the alleged breaches.
Mr Powderly also told Judge Zaidan that the first complaint was made by the woman, but now, both parties have withdrawn their complaints against each other.
When the arresting garda took to the stand, he asked him if he was aware of this complaint, and he replied that he was.
He also asked the garda: "Do they (the couple) take up a lot of your time?" to which the garda responded: "Yes."
Judge Zaidan struck out the case, and remarked to the arresting garda: "Talk about an abuse of the legal process."
