Well-known Kildare hotel planning changes on its premises

A famous County Kildare hotel is planning to implement some changes for its premises.

According to planning permission documents lodged with Kildare County Council, applicant Patrick McNally, on behalf of Kildare & District Underage League Academy, is seeking to make changes to the Killashee House Hotel in Naas.

Specifically, Mr McNally intends to seek permission for the construction of a single-story accommodation premises to include: an administration meeting, a gear room, a home changing room, an away changing room, a referee room, an analysis room, a pitch equipment store, and all associated ancillary works.

The date received is listed as June 9 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as July 13 and August 3 respectively.

The Killashee House Hotel began as an 18th Century Georgian house.

The estate was acquired by the Moore family in the early 19th century and the construction of the manor house in 1861 by Lt Col Richard St Ledger Moore.

The La Sainte order of nuns then acquired the property in 1927 and converted the manor house into a convent and junior boarding school.

Killashee House Hotel was then sold in 1998 to its current owners.
