KILDARE: Social housing tenants should be allowed to have pets

Residents of social housing should be allowed to keep pets.

A call has been made for Kildare County Council to request approved housing bodies to facilitate the move.

AHB are voluntary bodies which provide social housing.

Five Labour Party councillors have made the request.

They want KCC to request the AHBs operating within County Kildare to "end the ban on pets being allowed in rented accommodation and that a common sense approach be taken."
