The comments were made at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting held on Friday, May 5.
Discussions with Straffan GAA Club about a public playground may be ‘reactivated’ soon: that's according to Kildare County Council (KCC).
The topic came up during the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which was held on Friday, May 5 last.
Labour Party councillor Angela Feeney asked KCC for an update regarding the provision of a playground for Straffan.
She noted that there has been a population increase in the area.
In response, KCC said: "Some initial discussions with Straffan GAA were held to discuss the possibility of a location of a playground within their grounds.
"These did not conclude and would need to be reactivated to progress identifying a possible location," KCC added.
Both Cllr Feeney and KCC expressed that they were willing to re-engage with the club.
