Delay in Kildare court case involving alleged sexual assault

WITNESSES REQUIRED

A case involving an alleged instance of sexual assault was delayed at Naas District Court on Thursday, April 27.

Last year, the accused, who cannot be identified at present due to reporting restrictions, was accused of placing his hand on a woman’s backside in a non-consensual manner and making inappropriate comments about her body in Kildare on a date in 2016.

On the latest date, the court heard that the alleged injured party was the sister of his partner.

It was also heard that a number of witnesses were required in the case, as well as testimony from a counsellor's notes.

The case was adjourned to a date in October for hearing. Judge Desmond Zaidan remanded the accused on continuing bail.
