NOTICE: Gardaí urge Kildare people not to share photograph of body discovered in Dublin

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that gardaí are currently following a number of definite lines of enquiry in relation to the discovery.

People in County Kildare are being urged by An Garda Síochana not to share a photograph showing a body which was recently discovered in Dublin.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a male on Bower Beach in Balbriggan, County Dublin, yesterday (Thursday, April 20, 2023).

"Gardaí are currently following a number of definite lines of enquiry and are making efforts to contact the family members of the deceased."

The spokesperson continued: "An Garda Síochána is aware of certain images of the deceased male on the beach being circulated on social media messaging apps.

"An Garda Síochána is appealing to the public not to share these images.

"The circulation of such images is not only disrespectful to the family of the deceased, but is also unhelpful to the Garda investigation."
