The great tradition of Walking Sunday in Punchestown is back after a few years break. People have been walking the course on the Sunday before the Punchestown Racing Festival since the 1850’s.
The Kildare and West Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are delighted to be the chosen charity tomorrow and we are inviting families and dog owners to come along for this fun occasion and to enjoy a nice walk around the course.
We will be there between 2pm and 5pm with an information stall, a bucket collection and a raffle.
We will be giving out spot prizes to children and dogs in fancy dress. There will also be prizes for anyone who would like to be judged as ‘looking most like their dog’.
These prizes have been generously provided by Irish Dog Foods. There is no set time for the walk, you can come at any time during the afternoon.
Some of the Society’s own rescue dogs will also be present on the day as well as some of our previously adopted dogs.
There will be live music, a coffee van and an ice cream stand to enjoy when you finish the walk. This should be a lovely afternoon out with your family and your dogs while supporting the KWWSPCA at the same time.
NOAH’S ARK POP-UP SHOP
The very popular and successful Pop-Up Shop, hosted by the KWWSPCA’s Charity Shop, Noah’s Ark, will take place again on Saturday, April 22 (11- 4) and Sunday, April 23 (11-3) in the Town Hall/ Heritage Centre, Lower Main Street, Kilcullen.
This is a chance to buy good quality, new and nearly new clothes and accessories at very reasonable prices.
All the items have been donated by local shops and KWWSPCA supporters and all the profits from the event will go to helping animals in the care of the KWWSPCA. Plenty of parking nearby and admission is free.
