LATEST: Over 50 motorists tested for drink-driving at Kildare checkpoint

Leixlip District Gardai accompanied by Roads Policing Unit Naas conducted a Mandatory Intoxicant Testing (MIT) checkpoint in Leixlip in very poor weather conditions on Tuesday. 

A total of 56 motorists were tested for alcohol.

Lexlip Gardai confirmed all motorists passed.

A number of minor Road Traffic Offences were detected and will be dealt with by way of Fixed Charge Penalty Notices.

Leixlip Gardai said they would like to thank the public for their patience during the operation.
