Woman who appeared in Kildare court placed on peace bond

The case was heard at Naas District Court on Thursday, March 16.

A woman who became so heavily intoxicated that she put her partner in fear was placed on a peace bond.

Judge Desmond Zaidan made the decision at Naas District Court on Thursday, March 16, during an in-camera (in private) court session.

It was heard that the woman turned up to their home and that her partner was concerned that 'she would do something' to them.

It was also heard that the couple have children together.

Defending barrister Mark Gibbons told Judge Zaidan that his client had an addiction to alcohol, but has since sought treatment for her issues.

A garda also told Judge Zaidan that there have been no repeat incidents.

The judge imposed a 12-month peace bond on the woman.

However, he warned her not to commit any further offences, or he would send her to prison instead.

The judge also gave gardaí liberty to re-enter the case at short notice.
