KILDARE: No money for new car park signs in Naas

No quickfire ban on heavy lorries from Naas town centre

There is no money available to pay for electronic information signs for off-street parking in Naas.

The issues has been raised by Cllr Evie Sammon but according to Kildare County Council official Donal Hodgins no capital funding has been identified to implement this technology.

He said the budget for  the maintenance of existing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) including traffic signals is insufficient to cover the scope of the contracts for existing infrastructure and “therefore the provision of new additional technology is not anticipated in the short term.”
