UPDATE: Remarkable auction result for Laois 'keep out' house

The Laois bungalow offered for sale in an online auction

There has been a remarkable result on the auction of a derelict Laois house that is daubed with graffiti saying 'keep out' and 'not for sale'.

The four bedroom detached bungalow is set on almost an acre of land in the Pike of Rushall, close to Roscrea in Tipperary.

The windows were boarded up with some damage inside, while the front and rear gardens are strewn with machinery, shipping containers and waste.

It went up for auction on February 23, at a guide price of €95,000.

It was sold in the space of just 13 minutes, for €120,000.

Just two bidders had vied for the property, which BRG Gibson Auctioneers had described as "occupied under terms unknown".
