John Healy elected new Leinster Regional Organiser for Young Fine Gael

Kilcullen man John Healy has been elected new Leinster Regional Organiser for Young Fine Gael after proceedings of a new National Executive for the organisation.

Healy is from Kilcullen and attended Cross and Passion College. He has been an active member of many clubs in Kildare. He has been involved with both Kilcullen afc soccer club and St Anthonys youths fc. As well as that he was a member of Kilcullen gaa and a member of Crookstown and Celbridge athletics club having being a member of both the Kildare and Leinster high performance squads for shot putt and discus.

Healy also played American football with the Cill Dara Crusaders in Newbridge a very welcoming and excellent club. When he’s not in college he can often be found with his tutor at the weekend walking up and down Kilcullen practicing his Irish in a natural way, a very important passion for him. During the summer when he’s not in college he works in his fathers business Healys tyres in Nass. John has been elected to the position of Leinster Regional Organiser following months of breathless campaigning.

Healy assumes his new position with valuable experience under his belt in YFG. John’s college branch of UCD was recognised at the weekend with the Young Fine Gael ‘Branch of the Year’ award. The success and rejuvenation of the branch is in no small part thanks to John’s efforts on the UCD committee. He has been focussed on driving membership recruitment and organising fun and engaging events for members and will undoubtedly bring this same energy to his role on Executive as LRO. “It is an honour and a privilege to be elected as Leinster regional organiser of Young Fine Gael and I am excited for the opportunity to restore the Leinster branches to what they once were”.
