Kildare County Council (KCC) has said it has no plans to carry out a road realignment scheme at Laraghbryan West, Maynooth.
KCC outlined its decision to local councillors at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting on Friday, February 3 last.
Fine Gael Cllr Tim Durkan put forward a motion asking KCC about the possibility of implementing the works, 'given the numerous accidents at this location.'
However, the council said in its report at the meeting: "There are no current plans to carry out a road realignment scheme at Laraghbryan Maynooth, and such a scheme has not been identified on the three year capital programme.
"Low-Cost safety improvement works were carried out a number of years ago."
KCC added that the senior engineer for roads projects is available to meet on site at the convenience of the member.
