The man made his own application for protection at a family law hearing in Naas District Court in the absence of his partner, who was granted her order in his absence on a previous occasion.

He told Judge Desmond Zaidan that she had called the gardaí twice since getting the order and he was arrested.

She also called him a “toxic b……”

Referring to some of the partner’s claims he said, “she’s pulling them out of a hat.”

He also said the woman had been saying to him “it won’t be long now.”

Judge Desmond Zaidan  granted the protection order application and adjourned the case to May 23.
