Fine Gael's Martin Heydon looks set to top the poll in South Kildare according to tally figures.

Heydon is on 21.5%.

With just three seats up for grabs in the constituency, it's going to be a close run race for the last two seats. Fiona O'Loughlin (FF) is on 17.3% with 7,002 votes, with Shonagh Ní Raghallaigh (SF) on 16.9% (6,821votes) and Mark Wall (LAB) on 15.8% (6,407 votes).

Transfers are going to be vital in deciding the outcome. Sitting TDs, Cathal Berry (Ind) and Patricia Ryan (Ind formerly SF) look to be in trouble. Berry is on 7% of the vote while Ryan is on just .4%.

The official count is underway at the Punchestown count centre.
