Kilcullen seeking last four spot

Kilcullen manager Jarlath Gilroy

Fresh from their travels to Maastricht where they over came Amsterdam in the opening round of the Leinster Club Junior Football Championship Kilcullen take on Carlow champions (St Patrick's) Tullow in the quarter final, on Saturday at St Conleth's Park, with a 1.30 pm throw-in.
Jarlath Gilroy's boys won on their travels, in what manager Jarlath Gilroy described as a potential banana skin and now, back in the familiar surroundings of St Conleth's Park, will be expected to progress to the last four.
Two goals from Darren Barker and Graham Lavin saw The Rags dismiss Amsterdam on a final score line of 2-19 to 1-8.
No doubt St Patrick's will pose more of a threat but manager Gilroy has an incredible record in Leinster Club Championship and will be hoping that he can work off a clean bill of health as he bids for a semi final spot.
As usual he will look to Franny Shortt, Jamie Lambe and Brian Fox in defence; Darren Barker around the middle while up front Colm Fox, John Whyte and Graham Lavin in the scoring department.

The other quarter finals see Bracknagh (Offaly) v Ashford (Wicklow); Bective (Meath) v Rosenallis (Laois), both of these games also on Saturday while on Sunday in the final quarter final Castletown-Finea-Coole-Whitehall (Westmeath) v  Cloughbawn or Duffry Rovers (Wexford).
