Kildare U20 hurlers had no answer to the pace and power of their Galway counterparts in Round 2 of the Leinster Fulfil U20 Hurling Championship at Manguard Park, Hawkfield this afternoon (Saturday 11 April).
The visitors took an early grip, despite Tom Power firing over two frees but by the 17 minute the boys in maroon led 0-17 to 0-2.
The only goal of the game came soon after that with Ciaran Leen setting up Vince Morgan for a fine goal, the Galways boys going on to lead at the break 1-11 to 0-5.
Kildare certainly upped their game on the resumtion, hitting the opening three points from Tom Power (2) and Oisin O'Neill.
However Galway hit back with five points on the trot to put to bed any faint hopes Kildare had of causing an upset. with the favourites winning out on a final score line of Galway 1-19 Kildare 0-9.
