Kildare GAA: Sarsfields U16s take Division 2 title

Sallins fight-back halted in extra time

Kildare GAA: Sarsfields U16s take Division 2 title

Three Myles Darcy points for Sarsfields in extra time settled matters in this Life Credit Union U16 Division 2 League final, that after a late Cian Fagan free for Sallins with the final kick of the game forced the game, played in Sarsfields on Tuesday evening, to extra time.

Two first half goals from Robbie Byrne and Aaron O'Donnell  had the home side in a commanding eight point lead at the break

Sarsfields increased that lead through the accuracy of Myles Darcy but Sallins hit back with a point  from Ariel Hannigan  followed by a goal from Aidan Killian, the deficit was quickly down to five as Sallins grew into confidence and they hit the front as Sarsfields were struggling. However The Sash hit two points to regain the lead and looked to have the title but Sallins hit back with Conor Faran forcing the game to exta time in which Sarsfields, through Myles Darcy clinched the title.
