DCU defeated UCD in the final of the Sigerson Cup on Wednesday evening, 1-16 to 3-6, played at the GAA Connacht Centre of Excellence in Bekan, Mayo.
While Kildare players were represented on both teams it was Niall Dolan (Raheens) and Darragh Swords (Caragh) who were members of the winning side with the Caragh man coming off the bench and hitting three points.
The UCD team included Calum Bolton who was one of the stars of the losing team, the Kildare and Sarsfiels man hitting an impressive 1-2.
