GAA club in Kildare wins €5k prize for its activities

The club also received a personalised jersey for a junior team
Raheens GAA in Co Kildare has been selected as one of four winners of a new nationwide Guaranteed Irish community campaign, securing €5,000 for the Kildare club.
The campaign, ‘Are You in the Guaranteed Irish Club?’, invited Guaranteed Irish member businesses with links to local GAA clubs, teams or counties to highlight the contribution they make to their communities.
Raheens GAA was the winning club partnership with National Broadband Ireland, with the club receiving €5,000 towards its activities.
The three other winning partnerships were Ella & Jo with Ballyhaunis LGFA in Mayo, Duggan Veterinary with Holycross Ballycahill GAA in Tipperary, and Briody Bedding with St Brigid’s GAA in Meath.
Each winning club received €5,000, bringing the total community investment from the campaign to €20,000.
The clubs also received a personalised jersey for a junior team, presented during an exclusive photocall at Croke Park on Wednesday, September 9.
Guaranteed Irish CEO Bríd O’Connell said the campaign recognised businesses that support the people and communities around them.
“The initiative recognises Guaranteed Irish member businesses that go beyond their day-to-day operations to support the people and places around them,” she said.
She added that the campaign celebrated the central role GAA clubs play in Ireland’s sporting, social and cultural life.
The community impact of Guaranteed Irish members was highlighted in KPMG research published in 2025, which estimated that member businesses collectively contribute €59.3 million annually towards social value initiatives across Ireland.
